O potencial da cultura maker para o desenvolvimento das habilidades steam (ciência, tecnologia, engenharia, artes e matemática) na educação

    The objective of this article is to analyze the maker culture in the teaching and learning process and its potential to develop STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) skills. It uses a bibliographical research, based on articles and books by specialists and researchers in the areas of education, computer science, economics, and engineering. Thirty publications were previously selected, and then a new selection of publications was made, based on the terms and abstracts that would have the greatest contribution to reach the objective of this article. Then, we arrived at the number of 10 publications, being six books and four articles that deal with the maker culture and its unfoldings in the educational and social areas. It was deduced that the maker culture is being widely discussed in the fields of education, industry, companies, and the third sector. The maker culture involves the ideas of "do it yourself" and "let's do it together", requiring that the protagonists of this teaching and learning process develop and take advantage of their knowledge, enabling personal and interpersonal aspects, such as creativity, leadership, collaboration, cooperation, and the attitude to make decisions and initiate actions individually and in teams.

    O objetivo deste artigo é analisar a cultura maker no processo de ensino e aprendizagem e suas potencialidades para desenvolver as habilidades STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math). Utilizando-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, tendo por base artigos e livros de especialistas e pesquisadores na área da educação, informática, economia e engenharia. Foram selecionadas 30 publicações, previamente, em seguida, realizou-se uma nova seleção de publicações, com base nos termos e nos resumos que teriam maior contribuição para se atingir o objetivo deste artigo. Então, chegou-se ao número de 10 publicações, sendo seis livros e quatro artigos que tratam da cultura maker e seus desdobramentos na área educacional e social. Aduziu-se que a cultura maker está sendo bastante discutida nas áreas da educação, da indústria, empresas e no terceiro setor. A cultura maker envolve as ideias de "faça você mesmo" e "façamos juntos", necessitando que os protagonistas desse processo de ensino e aprendizagem desenvolvam e aproveitem os seus conhecimentos, habilitando aspectos pessoais e interpessoais, como a criatividade, a liderança, a colaboração, a cooperação e a postura de tomar decisões e iniciar ações de forma individual e em equipe.
