    This article surveys historical studies concerning women in Brazil over a period of twelve years. Fully aware that History «is masculin», there is an increasing number of female scholars who, in recent years, have cast new light on the subject, which, up to the moment, has not been conveniently explored. The conclusions of these studies, although they cannot be regarded as a distinct whole, point out the existence of important problematic nucleus.

    Dans cet article I'auteur fait Ie bilan d'une douzaine d'années d'études concernant l'histoire des femmes au Brésil.

    En effet un groupe de chercheuses qui a pris conscience du caractere «masculin» de I'histoire a ouvert, au cours des derniêres années, des perspectives nouvelles dans ce domaine jusqu'ici presque inexploité par l'historiographie brésiliénne. Bien que parcellaires les conclusions de ces travaux permettent néanmoins d'identifier les principaux problemes de ce nouveau territoire de la recherche.
