  • Resumen
    • The Glenwood Shale (Blackriveran Stage, Middle Caradocian, Middle Ordovician) is a thin (1 to 10 m) but persistent unit in the North Central United States, lying between the St. Peter Sandstone, below and the Platteville Limestone, above. Except for conodonts, the Glenwood is very sparsely fossiliferous and the present small fauna of about 9 species of Ostracoda from the uppermost Glenwood is an important addition to knowledge of Middle Ordovician paleontology of the region.

The ostracode fauna from Minneapolis, Minnesota includes two new species, five previously described species, one species left in open nomenclature, and one or more indeterminate species. The new species are Drepanella summitensis, n. sp. and Conchoprimites? genwoodensis, n. sp. These two species provide a unique aspect to the Glenwood fauna.
