    Objetivo: El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar la prevalencia de enfermedades periodontales en pacientes jóvenes, debido a que es una de las complicaciones de salud más comunes en la población. Método: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal enfatizando los aspectos epidemiológicos a 45 pacientes que acudieron a consulta.   Resultados y conclusiones: La exploración se realizó a través de historias clínicas y encuesta para clasificar como descriptiva, con el objetivo principal de identificar los factores por la cual se da o se presentan esta variable en los jóvenes, se identificó que se presentan un mayor índice desde el inicio de erupción de los dientes temporales hasta sus dientes permanentes, teniendo como objetivo determinar la relación entre higiene bucal y las enfermedades periodontales en jóvenes para determinar el método para la prevención.

    Objective: The objective of this research is to analyze the prevalence of periodontal diseases in young patients, since it is one of the most common health complications in the population. Method: A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out, emphasizing the epidemiological aspects, in 45 patients who attended the consultation. Results and conclusions: The exploration was carried out through clinical histories and a survey to classify as descriptive, with the main objective of identifying the factors for which this variable occurs or occurs in young people, it was identified that a higher index is present. from the beginning of the eruption of the temporary teeth to their permanent teeth, with the objective of determining the relationship between oral hygiene and periodontal diseases in young people to determine the method for prevention.
