    La Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) es el lugar destinado a llevar a cabo una vigilancia continuada de los pacientes con problemas de salud potencialmente críticos. Estos pacientes necesitan estar monitorizados y tratamientos constantes, lo cual puede incluir soporte para las funciones vitales. Se trata de una unidad multidisciplinar en la que el trabajo y la coordinación entre los distintos trabajadores (médicos intensivistas, enfermería, TCAE y fisioterapeutas, entre otros) es fundamental.

    El trabajo del TCAE en la UCI no es fácil, la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos es una de las áreas del hospital donde nos vamos a encontrar bajo presión y en momentos puntuales con estrés por la situación del paciente.

    The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is the place for carrying out continuous surveillance of patients with potentially critical health problems. These patients require constant monitoring and treatment, which may include support for vital functions. It is a multidisciplinary unit in which the work and coordination between the different workers (intensive care doctors, nurses, TCAE and physiotherapists, among others) is essential.

    The work of the TCAE in the ICU is not easy, the Intensive Care Unit is one of the areas of the hospital where we are going to find ourselves under pressure and at specific moments with stress due to the patient’s situation.
