    En los cuidados paliativos es de gran importancia conseguir mantener el confort de la persona enferma, es por ello que lo principal va a ser intentar controlar el dolor y para ello va a ser determinante tener una vía parenteral de acceso que sea lo menos lesiva y traumática para el paciente.

    En este caso esa vía de administración de medicamentos que ayuden a paliar los síntomas va a ser la vía subcutánea, una vía que, para los profesionales de enfermería, resulta muy útil y de fácil manejo, importunando así lo menos posible al paciente.

    Hoy en día se ha avanzado mucho ya no solo en la conciencia que tiene la sociedad sobre la necesidad de los cuidados paliativos, sino también en las técnicas y medios de los que los sanitarios disponemos para poder aplicarlos.

    In palliative care it is of great importance managing to keep the comfort of the sick person. That is why, the main fact will be trying to control the pain and for that, it is going to be decisive having a parental way of access which is the least harmful and traumatic for the patients.

    In this case, the route of administration of drugs which help to alleviate the symptoms will be the subcutaneous line; a line that, for nursing professionals, is very useful and easy handling; bothering the patients as little as possible.

    Nowadays, a lot of progress has been made; not only in the awareness that society has about the need of palliative care; but also in the techniques and means that healthcare workers have to apply them.
