    La sonda nasogástrica es un tubo que se inserta desde la nariz, pasando por el esófago hasta llegar al estómago.

    Existen diferentes beneficios de este tipo de sondas, pero, los principales son: obtener la nutrición necesaria y la proporción de medicamentos en aquellos pacientes que son incapaces de comer y beber por diversos problemas.

    Entre otras de las funciones son: aliviar distensión por obstrucciones, vaciar el estómago en pacientes intubados así evitando aspiraciones, obtener muestras del contenido gástrico, eliminar toxinas ingeridas.

    A nasogastric tube is a tube that is inserted from the nose, down the esophagus, and into the stomach.

    There are different benefits of this type of tube, but the main ones are: obtaining the necessary nutrition and the proportion of medications in those patients who are unable to eat and drink due to various problems.

    Among other functions are: relieve distension due to obstructions, empty the stomach in intubated patients thus avoiding aspirations, obtain samples of gastric contents, eliminate ingested toxins.
