The most important phases of this crisis are retraced. Through the reconstruction of the current sanctions framework, the prerequisites for inclusion in the sanctions list are identified. And after the reconstruction of the main doctrine and the most important cases on European Unione restrictive measures, it points out how the adoption of economic measures of a personal nature might to be seems as lacking of a direct causal link with the invasion of Ukrainian territory. This lack might be justified by intention of European Union to sanction the widest number of subjects, thus also giving sanctions a secondary scope.
