  • Resumen
    • The Recent Ostracoda from 11 samples collected by box corer from the bed of Scoresby Sund, east Greenland are discussed. This is the first study of the fauna which comprises 35 species belonging to 15 genera. Twenty-six of these species also occur in the adjacent Greenland Sea. Although the bathymetrical range of the samples (277m to 1262m) includes lower bathyal depths, most of the elements of the pandemic deep sea global fauna are absent, probably due to the shallow sill of the fjord system. Both epifaunal and infaunal ostracods occur in the main fjiord and in the deep basin of Fohnfjiord, although the absence of infaunal species in Nordvestfjord, suggests that there the bottom sediments are anoxic.
