    Las autoridades eclesiásticas y civiles del Antiguo Régimen impusieron una representación femenina que transmitiera conductas aceptables. No obstante, los desafíos del contexto social a los que se enfrentaron las mujeres les impedía cumplir con lo prescrito. Algunas mujeres decidieron vivir relaciones como el amasiato, concubinato y adulterio. Para los intereses de este escrito, nos enfocamos en el adulterio que, desde la concepción judeocristiana y el derecho, atentó contra la familia y por ende, el orden social; por lo tanto, debía ser señalado y castigado. Por tal razón, es importante explicar cómo el adulterio femenino resultó de las desavenencias originadas en la vida maridable: infidelidad, sevicia y falta de manutención. En este artículo, se analizan cuatro denuncias por adulterio femenino junto con tres demandas de divorcio eclesiástico que se realizaron a finales del siglo xviii e inicios del xix en el espacio geográfico de la Nueva Galicia; en ellas, se revelan atisbos de la vida íntima de las cuatro mujeres que articulan este estudio.

    The ecclesiastical and civil authorities of the Old Regime imposed a female representation that conveyed acceptable behaviors. However, the challenges of the social context that women faced prevented them from complying with what was mandated. Some women chose to live in relationships such as consensual marriage, cohabitation and adultery. For the purposes of this paper we focus on adultery, which, from the Judeo-Christian conception and the law, was an attack against the family and thus the social order which, therefore, must be pointed out and punished. For this reason, it is important to explain how female adultery resulted from the disagreements originated in marital life: infidelity, abuse and lack of support. In this article, four complaints of female adultery are analyzed along with three ecclesiastical divorce suits that took place in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries in the geographic space of New Galicia. In them, glimpses of the intimate life of the four women who articulate this study are revealed.
