Resumen de Fisioterapia en trasplante cardíaco: Fase 1. Reporte de un caso

  Presentamos el caso de un paciente con falla cardíaca avanzada que requirió de asistencia biventricular antes de ser trasplantado, y que recibió la atención de fisioterapia durante las fases de pre y pos trasplante en un hospital de Lima-Perú. Presentó déficit de fuerza muscular y baja capacidad funcional con compromiso de la función respiratoria que lo llevó a requerir ventilación mecánica prolongada con uso de traqueostomía durante la etapa de asistencia ventricular. El paciente recibió fisioterapia integral con un plan de tratamiento basado en la evaluación de las escalas MRC y CPAPx que reflejaron y cuantificaron la mejoría del paciente. Dando una orientación y guía para las intervenciones basadas en la funcionalidad.

  We report the case of a patient with advanced heart failure who required biventricular assistance before being transplanted, and who received physical therapy attention during the pre- and post-transplant phases at the Hospital Lima-Perú. He presented muscle strength deficit and low functional capacity with respiratory function compromise that led him to require prolonged mechanical ventilation with the use of a tracheostomy during the ventricular assistance stage. The patient received comprehensive physiotherapy with a treatment plan based on the evaluation of the MRC and CPAPx scales that reflected and quantified the patient's improvement. Providing guidance and direction for functionality-based interventions.
