Este trabajo es un análisis contrastivo de las funciones de los grupos nominales que contienen a another, other, others, /otro, otra, otros, otras, en inglés y español. Se presenta como hipótesis de trabajo que las combinaciones en inglés de las estructuras que forman estos grupos no tienen las mismas posibilidades combinatorias en español, lo que por supuesto produce unidades semánticas diferentes y causa interferencia negativa en el proceso de aprendizaje de cualquiera de las dos lenguas como lengua extranjera. Para comprobar esta hipótesis se hace una descripción detallada de las unidades, luego se hace la yuxtaposición y el contraste y finalmente se presentan las conclusiones.

This work is a contrastive analysis of the functions of the noun phrases made up of the forms another, other, others, /otro, otra, otros, and otras, in English and Spanish. The working hypothesis is that the combinations in English of the structures that form those nominal groups do not have the same combinatorial possibilities in Spanish, which of course produces different semantic units and causes negative interference in the learning process of either of the two languages as a foreign language. To verify this hypothesis, a detailed description of the units is made, then the juxtaposition and contrast are made, and finally, the conclusions are presented.
