  En la presente investigación se planteó como objetivo general analizar jurídicamente la protección Municipal a la fauna urbana por muerte y maltrato a los perros, Quevedo, Ecuador. La metodología empleada en la investigación, se basó en el enfoque cualitativo, manejando la recolección y análisis de una tipología documental-bibliográfica, que permitió organizar un análisis del objeto de estudio, con la finalidad de proponer un análisis crítico jurídico de la norma en base a los expertos en la materia. La técnica de investigación aplicada fue la entrevista; la herramienta que apoyó la guía de manera estructurada, tomando como población y como muestra a cinco personas y algunos representantes del Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado del cantón Quevedo, es una investigación cualitativa no probabilista por participación. Se concluye que, los animales de compañía son sujetos de derechos, que en la Norma Suprema se establece que el Estado debe garantizar el goce de estos derechos.

  The general objective of this research was to legally analyze the Municipal protection of urban fauna due to the death and mistreatment of dogs in Quevedo, Ecuador. The methodology used in the research was based on the qualitative approach, managing the collection and analysis of a documentary-bibliographic typology, which allowed organizing an analysis of the object of study, with the purpose of proposing a critical legal analysis of the norm based on experts in the field. The research technique applied was the interview; the tool that supported the guide in a structured manner, taking as population and as a sample five people and some representatives of the Decentralized Autonomous Government of the canton Quevedo, it is a non-probabilistic qualitative research by participation. It is concluded that companion animals are subjects of rights, and that the Supreme Norm establishes that the State must guarantee the enjoyment of these rights.
