Publicaciones con primera autoría de investigadores del área de ciencias de la salud categorizados en el PRONII

    Este estudio tiene como objetivo determinar la distribución de los investigadores del área de Ciencias de la Salud categorizados en el PRONII, activos o asociados al año 2016, conforme su productividad científica. Se realizó un estudio cuantitativo, con alcance descriptivo, diseño no experimental y de tipo transversal. Se llevó a cabo la cuantificación de las publicaciones alojadas en la Web of Science, hasta el mes de abril del año 2018, generadas a lo largo de la vida por los investigadores de interés en las cuales figuraban como primer autor y con filiación a instituciones de Paraguay.Se apreció una proporción más alta de hombres que de mujeres con 5 o más publicaciones. Poco más de la mitad de los investigadores que tenían de 5 a 7 publicaciones correspondían al grupo de 55 años o más de edad. Se observó que alrededor del 50% de los investigadores activos no poseían publicaciones. En el nivel de categorización se mostró que alrededor de 4 de cada 10 investigadores del Nivel III contaban con 5 a 7 publicaciones. Este estudio revela que los hombres superan a las mujeres en los rangos mayores de publicaciones en el área de Ciencias de la Salud, asimismo en éstos se encuentran los grupos etarios altos, proporciones elevadas de investigadores activos y Candidatos a Investigador carecen de publicaciones, bajo los criterios establecidos en este trabajo.

    This study aims to determine the distribution of researchers in the Health Sciences area categorized in the PRONII, active or associated in 2016, according to their scientific productivity. A quantitative study was carried out, with a descriptive scope, a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The quantification of the publications hosted on the Web of Science was carried out, until April 2018, generated throughout life by the researchers of interest in which they appeared as the first author and with affiliation to institutions of Paraguay. A higher proportion of men than women was observed with 5 or more publications. Just over half of the researchers who had 5 to 7 publications were in the age group 55 years or older. It was observed that about 50% of active researchers did not have publications. At the level of categorization, it was shown that around 4 out of 10 Level III researchers had 5 to 7 publications. This study reveals that men outperform women in the higher ranks of publications in the area of Health Sciences, also in these are the high age groups, high proportions of active researchers and Researcher Candidates lack publications, under the criteria established in this work
