Recent deep and shallow water Ostracoda from the Antarctic Peninsula and the Scotia Sea.

    • A fauna of Recent Ostracoda from both shallow and deep water is described from the western Antarctic. The depth at which the samples was collected ranges from 2 m to 3925 m. The most southerly sample is from Halley Bay at 75° 30' South; the most northerly in the Scotia Sea at 53° 03'. A total of 69 species were encountered belonging to 37 genera. Six of the species are described as new (Bairdoppilata erugata, B. microguttata, Bythocythere kyamos, Rotundracythere austromarscotiensis. Callocythere multireticulatum and Poseidonamicus ansoni) and one new trachyleberid genus, Callocythere. Eleven species are left in open nomenclature.
