  • Resumen
    • Based on a suite of 78 samples from various localities in Brazilian, Colombian and Peruvian parts of the Amazon Basin, a total of 31 species of podocopid Ostracoda have been recovered. These belong to 11 genera and to the Superfamilies Darwinulacea, Cypridacea and Cytheracea, of which the latter is greatly dominant. The genus Cyprideis, represented by a flock of 17 species, makes up some 90% of the individuals.

Six new species are described: Perissocytheridea akistron, Cyprideis aulakos, Cyprideis cyrtoma, Cyprideis lacrimata. Cyprideis obliquosulcalta, and Cyprideis schedogymnos.

Nineteen of the species recorded by previous authors from these deposits were not encountered by the present authors.
