  Se llevaron a cabo cinco muestreos de algas bentónicas en Isla Asunción y Bahía Asunción, B.C.S., durante 1988 y 1989. Los resultados muestran la presencia de 113 especies de algas marinas. Se determinaron tres especies de Cyanophyta, 78 especies de Rhodophyta, 19 especies de Phaeophyta y 13 especies de Chlorophyta. En la lista florística se incluyen datos sobre las especies presentes en el área de estudio, su estado reproductivo, el nivel de marea, tipo de costa, sustrato y epifitismo de cada especie. Macrocystis pyrifera, Eisenia arborea y Corallina officinalis var. chilensis son los componentes principales de la flora bentónica de Isla Asunción. La composición de especies encontrada en Bahía Asunción es representativa de la flora asociada con los mantos de Macrocystis pyrifea de la zona sur de Baja California. Las Rhodophyta son dominantes en términos de diversidad.

  Five samplings of benthic marine algae were carried out at Isla Asunción and Bahía Asunción, B.C.S., during 1988 and 1989. In total, 113 species of benthic marine algae were found. Three species of Cyanophyta, 78 species of Rhodophyta, 19 species of Phaeophyta and 13 species of Chlorophyta were determined. The floristic list includes data on the reproductive stage, tidal level, type of coast, substrate and epiphytism of the species found. Macrocystis pyrifera, Eisenia arborea and Corallina oficinalis var. chilensis are the principal components of the benthic vegetation of Asunción Island. The species composition found in Bahía Asunción is representative of the flora associated with Macrocytis pyrifera beds from the southern area of Baja California. The Rhodophyta are dominant in terms of diversity.
