    • Legislatives changes and European agreements have produced modification in the learning curriculums. About competency-based learning, «mathematical, science, technology and engineering competence»(STEM) have been introduced into Spanish educational legislation. However, in the scientific literature thereis a consensus in include arts subjects in this group (STEAM). STEAM subjects develop the ComputationalThinking and life problem solving skills. From Primary education classrooms, musical discipline we can beworked on from a STEAM perspective: computer boards, traditional musical activities, interdisciplinary projects, use of robots and specific software and use of computer programs. This approach is also useful to be ableto implement innovative methodologies, known as «active methodologies» (project-based learning, servicelearning, game-based learning, flipped classroom, collaborative learning, etc.). The scientific literature saysthat the qualities of the musical discipline, added to the STEAM approach and the practice of active methodologies, allow to expand knowledge and generate significant learning. Promoting music teaching from theSTEAM approach is an educational commitment focused on the future needs of students.
