    Este trabajo se pregunta por la construcción del Estado de Mendoza entre 1852 y 1880 a través de su fiscalidad. El objetivo del trabajo es analizar los debates legislativos relativos al tratamiento de proyectos sobre impuestos para identificar los rasgos de la cultura tributaria. Mediante un análisis de los debates legislativos, normas específicas y artículos de prensa, se corrobora la hipótesis de que la cultura tributaria estuvo marcada por la tensión entre los principios liberales proclamados y las dificultades para implementarlos de forma concreta, dadas por las carencias en los elencos estatales e instrumentos de medición.

    This work asks about the construction of the State of Mendoza between 1852 and 1880 through its taxation. The objective of the work is to analyze the legislative debates related to the treatment of tax projects that took place in the province of Mendoza between 1852 and 1880 in order to identify the features of the tax culture. Through an analysis of legislative debates, specific regulations and press articles, the hypothesis that the tax culture was marked by the tension between the proclaimed liberal principles and the difficulties to implement them in a concrete way is corroborated, given by the deficiencies in the state employees and measuring instruments.
