Orfeu em Pessoa-: uma leitura órfica da poesia de Fernando Pessoa

    In this paper I attempt to trace the orphic influence on Fernando Pessoa, orthonym, as well as on his heteronyms and semi-heteronyms. Orphic elements are revealed in different aspects of Pessoan writings: (i) in the triangular tension between poetry, love, and death; (ii) in the temporal aporias that echo in the poet’s conception of memory and the past, reminiscing the orphic notions of death and transmigration of the soul; and (iii) in the understanding of poetry as initiation, with the notion of “mystery” as a leitmotif. Besides evincing passages that thematize orphic myths and aspects of the orphic mystery religion, I argue that these ancient references gain original nuances in the Pessoan imaginary: from the glosses upon orphic poetics stem aesthetic meditations on time, memory, creation, and mystery.

    Neste artigo, procurarei traçar a influência do orfismo em Fernando Pessoa, ortônimo, e seus heterônimos e semi-heterônimos. Na obra pessoana, elementos órficos se revelam de diferentes maneiras: (i) na tensão triangular entre poesia-morte-amor, (ii) nas aporias temporais ensejadas pela morte e pela transmigração das almas, com desdobramentos para as concepções da memória e do passado, e (iii) numa formulação iniciática da poesia, em que o mistério é motivo recorrente. Além de levantar passagens que tematizam o mito de Orfeu e motivos da religião de mistério órfica, pretendo mostra como essas referências são ressignificadas, ganhando nuanças originais no imaginário pessoano, em que as glosas da poética órfica dão lugar a reflexões estéticas sobre tempo, memória, criação e mistério.
