    In this text, we will explore the confluence of two important contemporary French philosophers regarding the problem of individual freedom. It’s about Jean Nabert (1881-1960) and Paul Ricoeur (1913-2005), which will be read in their early texts: L'Expérience intérieure de la liberté (1924) and Éléments pour une Éthique (1943), in Nabert’s work; Philosophie de la volonté 1: Le volontaire et l'involontaire (1950), in Ricoeur’s one. In these works, both philosophers give us the task of refusing any conceptualization of the human will that understands it as being constituted by phases, by specific moments; instead, they conceive it in its own dynamism, in its rhythm of existence, in which the decision is only the point of arrival. It is in this rhythm of existence that the free man, when constituting reasons to act and creating values to guide his actions, ends up creating himself.

    Nesse texto, exploraremos a confluência de dois importantes filósofos franceses contemporâneos a respeito do problema da liberdade individual. Trata-se de Jean Nabert (1881-1960) e Paul Ricoeur (1913-2005), que serão lidos em seus textos de juventude: L’Expérience intérieure de la liberté (1924) e Éléments pour une Éthique (1943), no caso de Nabert ; Philosophie de la volonté 1: Le volontaire et l’involontaire (1950), no caso de Ricoeur. Nessas obras, ambos os filósofos nos legam a tarefa de recusar toda conceituação da vontade humana que a entenda como sendo constituída por fases, por momentos pontuais; em vez disso, eles a concebem em seu dinamismo próprio, seu ritmo de existência, no qual a decisão é apenas o ponto de chegada. É nesse ritmo de existência que o homem livre, ao constituir motivos para agir e criar valores para pautar suas ações, termina por criar a si mesmo.
