Resumen de Fashion and Metaverse: an expository study on the first MVTW

La presente contribución nace del proyecto de estudio exploratorio de la primera semana de la moda en el metaverso que se celebró en marzo de 2022 en la plataforma Decentraland. En los últimos meses, muchas empresas han comprendido el potencial del metaverso, no menos importante el sector de la moda, que ha asumido el reto realizando la primera Metaverse Fashion Week. El propósito de esta contribución es realizar un estudio exploratorio sobre MVFW a través de un análisis netnográfico y proporcionar una imagen de la presencia de las casas de moda, identificando cómo lo digital está redefiniendo el consumo de la moda.

This contribution stems from the exploratory study project of the first fashion week in the metaverse that was held from March 2022 on the Decentraland platform. In recent months many companies have understood the potential of the metaverse, not least the fashion industry, that has taken up the challenge by creating the first Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW). The purpose of this contribution is to carry out an exploratory study on MVFW through a netnographic analysis and provide a picture on the presence of fashion houses by identifying how digital is redefining fashion consumption.
