    En el seno de la comunidad musulmana norteamericana se ha asistido a una importante campaña de radicalización ideológica. Analizando los protagonistas del proceso de propagación del extremismo religioso es fundamental poner la atención en la red de la SAAR Foundation, creada por el patriarca saudí Sulaymān ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz al-Rājḥī; dueño también de al-Rajhi Banking and Investment Corporation, ha sido reconocido como miembro de la Golden Chain de los financiadores de al-Qāʿida. La sede de la sociedad en territorio norteamericano se había establecido en Virginia, donde se encontraban también las sedes legales de varias asociaciones islámicas. Observando la actividad de las personalidades más importantes que formaban parte de la red SAAR se ha visto cómo muchas ocupaban posiciones relevantes en otras organizaciones; la mayoría de estas ha demostrado ser pretexto para difundir un mensaje religioso extremista y apoyar grupos considerados terroristas como al-Qāʿida, Ḥamās, Yihad Islámica Palestina y los mujāhidīn.

    Within the American Muslim community there has been a major campaign of ideological radicalization. Analyzing the protagonists of the process of propagation of religious extremism, it is essential to pay attention to the SAAR Foundation network, created by the Saudi patriarch Sulaymān ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz al-Rājḥī; owner also of al-Rajhi Banking and Investment Corporation, he has been recognized as a member of the Golden Chain of al-Qāʿida’s financiers. The head- quarters of the corporation on U.S. soil had been established in Virginia, where the legal headquarters of several Islamic associations were also located. Observing the activity of the most important personalities who were part of the SAAR network has shown how many held relevant positions in other organizations; most of these have proven to be pretexts for spreading an extremist religious message and supporting groups considered terrorists such as al-Qāʿida, Ḥamās, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the mujāhidīn.
