    Este artículo tiene como objetivo identificar, describir, y analizar algunos elementos o categorías que contribuyen o tratan de contribuir a la creación y al desarrollo de la comicidad y del humor en el poema medieval del siglo XV que lleva por título Los frailes de Berwick. La metodología empleada es de tipo cualitativo puesto que no pretende medir o analizar datos numéricamente a través de la estadística, sino identificar, describir y analizar las variables de estudio establecidas con referencia al texto escogido a través del análisis textual. Las conclusiones apuntan a la función de la comicidad o el humor como medio vehicular para la corrección de los vicios en general y de toda conducta inmoral o socialmente inadmisible en particular.

    This article intends to identify, describe, and analyze some elements or categories which contribute or attempt to contribute to the creation and development of the humorousness in the 15th Medieval poem titled The Friars of Berwick. The methodology which has been used is qualitative, as it does not intend to analyze, or measure data numerically through the statistics, but it intends to identify, describe, and analyze the study variables which have been established in reference to the chosen text through the textual analysis. The conclusions lead to function of humorousness as a vehicular means towards the correction of vices in general or of any immoral or socially unacceptable behavior in particular.
