Resumen de La utilidad didáctica del enigma (riddle) anglosajón en la enseñanza del inglés antiguo en la carrera de Lengua Inglesa del Instituto Superior de Lenguas de la Universidad Nacional de Asunción

  Dos son los propósitos fundamentales de esta conferencia: (1) abordar en términos generales la naturaleza del riddle (“enigma”, “acertijo” o “adivinanza”) anglosajón desde el enfoque de su estructura, temática, función, lengua y recepción; y (2) señalar la utilidad y función de este, por decirlo así, subgénero literario dentro de la poesía en el marco de la enseñanza del inglés antiguo en la carrera de Lengua Inglesa que ofrece el Instituto Superior de Lenguas en la Universidad Nacional de Asunción, específicamente en cuarto año en la materia de Filología de la Lengua Inglesa. La riqueza estética, literaria y lingüística de este tipo de poesía la convierte en un recurso didáctico muy útil en el aula y muy atractivo y ameno para los estudiantes de cuarto año.

  The following lecture has two main goals: (1) to address the nature of the Anglo-Saxon Riddle in a global way by focusing on its structure, themes, function, language, and reception; and (2) highlight the usefulness and function of this literary subgenre, so to speak, within poetry in the frame of the teaching of Old English in the programmed of English delivered by the Higher Language Institute of the NationalUniversity of Asuncion, specifically in fourth year in the subject of Philology of the English Language. The aesthetic, literary and linguistic richness of this kind of poetry makes it a very useful didactic resource in the classroom, and also very appealing and enjoyable to fourth-year students
