    En esta ocasión nos proponemos llevar a cabo la necesaria revisión de las lecturas de algunos textos de la epigrafía galaico-romana, y en concreto de la epigrafía ourensana, lecturas que, en nuestra opinión, en algunos casos han sido interpretadas con cierta disculpable precipitación, en otros por haber sido deficientemente descifrados sus semiborrosos o desgastados textos, y en alguno – el más conocido, repetitivo y lamentable – incluso por imaginar nombres de dioses y de dedicantes inexistentes, guiándose simplemente por el ansia de aportar y querer leer más que nadie sobre partes de textos prácticamente desaparecidos, pero lecturas que no obstante hasta ahora por desgracia han tenido fortuna.

    Hace ya bastantes años que habíamos tenido la necesidad por primera vez de corregir la interesante, rica y variada epigrafía romana de Ourense (Nuevas aras romanas ourensanas y rectificaciones interpretativas en torno a otros epígrafes galaico-romanos ya conocidos. Boletín Auriense, tomo III, 1973, Ourense, pp. 57- 96), y en esta ocasión hemos querido mejorar la situación de complacencia en la que se encuentran algunos ejemplares que precisan ser revisados.

    Specific corrections of some Roman epigraphs known in the province of Ourense In this ocasion it’s nedeed to propose the correct interpretation of some texts of the Galaico-Roman epigraphy, especially in the Ouresan epigraphy, interpretations that, in our opinion, sometimes have been understood with a kind of pardonable rush, and in other ocations for having been interpretated wrongly their vanishing or worn out texts, and in some cases- the knownest, most repetitive and pathetic-the names of Gods and Devotees were completely made up, beeing simply guided by the desire of giving and wishing read more than anyonelse, parts of texts practically desappeared, but these interpretations unfortunally, till now, have obtained success.

    For some time now we have needed, and for the first time we will endeavour to correct the interesting, rich and assorted Roman epigraphy of Ourense (New Roman altars of Ourense and corrected interpretations among another galaic-roman already known epigraphs. Boletín Auriense, tomo III, 1973, Ourense, pages 57- 96). So, on this specific occasion, we desired to improve the situation of compliance in which some examples that need to be examined converge.
