    Los chicos y chicas de quinto de Primaria descubrieron cuatro problemas del Parque Natural de la Sierra de Mariola, el más importante de la provincia de Alicante, que hacían referencia a la naturaleza, el patrimonio, las personas y los animales. Para solucionarlos, limpiaron 122 km del espacio verde, consiguieron subsistir una campana del santuario de Agres que llevaba años inservible, colaboraron en la no-extinción de dos especies domésticas autóctonas (la oveja valenciana y la gallina alicantina) y ayudaron a las familias más necesitadas de Bañeres de Mariola mediante la donación de 140 litros de aceite de oliva. Servicios que estuvieron vertebrados por la vida y obra del poeta Miguel Hernández, fomentando así la lectura y la poesía. Y, al tiempo que trabajaron el currículo en el aula, aprendieron a valorar las montañas españolas, descubrieron el mundo del toque manual de las campanas, recolectaron aceitunas para obtener aceite para el prójimo y conocieron las características de animales domésticos en peligro de extinción y qué hacer para evitarlo. De esta manera se consiguió vertebrar un proyecto de concienciación y compromiso social.

    The boys and girls of the fifth year of Primary School discovered four problems in the Sierra de Mariola Natural Park, the most important in the province of Alicante, which made reference to nature, heritage, people and animals. To solve them, they cleaned 122 km of green space, managed to replace a bell in the Agres sanctuary that had been useless for years, collaborated in the non-extinction of two native domestic species (the Valencian sheep and the Alicante chicken) and helped the most needy families of Bañeres de Mariola by donating 140 liters of olive oil. Services that were structured by the life and work of the poet Miguel Hernández, thus promoting reading and poetry. And, while they worked on the curriculum in the classroom, they learned to value the Spanish mountains, discovered the world of manual ringing of bells, collected olives to obtain oil for others and learned about the characteristics of endangered domestic animals and what do to avoid it. In this way, it was possible to structure a project of awareness and social commitment.
