  • Resumen
    • The purpose of the article is to investigate the current state and possible prospects of learning German in the Republic of Kazakhstan. For this purpose, legislative documents and the practice of teaching German were studied. The object of the study is the Germanspeaking minority in Kazakhstan. The study uses a linguistic-ethnographic approach, in which ethnographic and linguistic methodologies are combined to study the use of language in a certain social environment. A qualitative methodology was applied. The constructivist paradigm of heritage was used to analyse interpretations and narratives. The article presents an analysis of the tools used by Germany to successfully promote the education and culture of ethnic Germans in Kazakhstan, the purposes that Germany pursues by implementing the chosen strategy, including the role of the German-speaking minority. The undertaken research covers the overall strategy of Germany in the educational and cultural spheres of Kazakhstan. The empirical analysis complements the existing literature, comprehensively covering the educational opportunities offered by the use of the German language in Kazakhstan and creating a detailed picture of the assimilation process with simultaneous consideration of various aspects of learning and using the German language. It is concluded that the German-speaking minority in Kazakhstan acts as a bridge between Kazakhstan and Germany.
