La conquista de Navarra por parte de España entre 1512 y 1529 tuvo gran trascendencia en la historia europea durante toda la Edad Moderna, en la que se convirtió en permanente tema de fricción militar y diplomática entre España y Francia. Desde el primer momento aparecieron libros que se ocuparon del relato de los hechos político-militares más destacados, mientras que la justificación y la valoración de la propia conquista fue también objeto de diversas obras manuscritas o impresas escritas por cronistas, juristas e historiadores en los ámbitos francés, español y navarro. El artículo repasa la producción historiográfica aparecida durante los siglos XVI, XVII y XVIII.

Spain’s conquest of Navarre between 1512 and 1529 had major implications for European history throughout the Modern Age, which became a permanent cause of military and diplomatic friction between Spain and France. From the start, books appeared that told the story of the most noteworthy political and military events, while the justification and assessment of the conquest itself was also the subject of many manuscripts and publications written by chroniclers, legal experts, and historians in France, Spain, and Navarre. This article revisits the historiographical production arising out of the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries.
