Educación comunitaria, impacto familiar y social en al aparición de labio leporino y paladar hendido.

    La educación comunitaria constituye una herramienta fundamental en la prevención de enfermedades, porque potencia los diferentes esfuerzos, saberes, experiencias y voluntades de un grupo de personas que persiguen un mismo fin: la solución de la problemática que afecta al enfermo, a la familia y a la comunidad. En este trabajo se consideran estudios que avalan el hecho de que la patología de labio leporino puede ser impactada de manera positiva con este tipo de aproximación. Se decidió realizar: primero, un estudio del tipo revisión bibliográfica como base teórica y luego, un estudio descriptivo de carácter exploratorio de los expedientes de los pacientes que asisten al servicio de la “Fundación niños que ríen”. Se focalizaron los esfuerzos de educación y se determinaton las áreas de mayor incidencia para dirigir los esfuerzos hacia esos lugares en busca de disminuir los factores predisponentes.

    Community education is a fundamental tool in disease prevention because it strengthens the different efforts, knowledge, experiences and wishes of a group of people pursuing the same goal: solving the problems that affect the sick, the family and the community. In this paper we considered studies that support the fact that the pathology of the cleft lip can be positively impacted with this type of approach. It was decided to carry out: first, a bibliographic review as a theoretical basis and then a descriptive exploratory study of the patients’ records of the person with the desease that attended the service of “Fundación niños que ríen”, in order to focus the educational endeavour in determining which are the most important areas to direct the efforts to these places in order to reduce the predisposing factors.
