    La unidad neonatal está atendida por un equipo multidisciplinario que trabaja para velar por la salud del bebe, pero todos comparten el mismo objetivo.

    La unidad de cuidados intensivos neonatales (UCIN) es uno de los componentes más cruciales de cualquier hospital; se usa para bebés prematuros que requieren cuidados intensivos después del nacimiento.

    Las funciones del TCAE incluyen, entre otras, brindar al recién nacido los cuidados básicos en las áreas de higiene, nutrición y bienestar general. También trabajan junto con los profesionales de los otros miembros del equipo para completar las tareas. El TCAE juega un papel crucial. Dado que el profesional es el que tiene mayor contacto con el paciente, debe estar especialmente pendiente de cualquier cambio o alteración y alertar a enfermería sobre los mismos. Ayudar a los padres a participar en el cuidado del bebé también es crucial para promover el aprendizaje y fortalecer los vínculos afectivos.

    The neonatal unit is staffed by a multidisciplinary team working to ensure the baby’s health, but all share the same goal.

    The neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is one of the most crucial components of any hospital; it is used for premature babies who require intensive care after birth.

    The functions of the NICU nurses include, among others, providing the newborn with basic care in the areas of hygiene, nutrition and general well-being. They also work together with the professionals of the other team members to complete the tasks. The TCAE plays a crucial role. Since he/she has the most contact with the patient, he/she must be especially aware of any changes or alterations and alert nursing to them. Helping parents to participate in the baby’s care is also crucial to promote learning and strengthen bonding.
