    La unidad de reanimación o REA, es el servicio de cuidados especializados por donde pasan pacientes que han sido intervenidos quirúrgicamente, en función de las complicaciones que puedan surgir según la intervención a la que se ha sometido al paciente, podrá ser derivado a dicha unidad.

    El principal objetivo de este servicio es disminuir las complicaciones que puedan surgirle al paciente en el periodo postoperatorio. Los cuidados que allí se facilitan tienen carácter integral y los ofrecen un equipo multidisciplinar. La estancia en dicha unidad suele ser de normal inferior de 24 horas, aunque puede llegar a las 48 horas, en función de las necesidades y evolución que tenga el paciente. Recibirán información tanto el paciente como los familiares por parte del equipo sanitario correspondiente, allí podrán recibir visitas de los familiares según horario que tenga establecido la unidad. En caso de que el paciente empeora sería trasladado a la UCI para un seguimiento más exhaustivo.

    The resuscitation unit, or REA, is the specialized care service through which patients who have undergone surgery pass. Depending on the complications that may arise depending on the operation to which the patient has been subjected, he or she may be referred to this unit.

    The main objective of this service is to reduce the complications that may arise in the postoperative period. The care provided there is comprehensive and is offered by a multidisciplinary team. The stay in this unit is usually less than 24 hours, although it can be up to 48 hours, depending on the patient’s needs and evolution. Both the patient and family members will receive information from the corresponding healthcare team, where they may receive visits from family members according to the timetable established by the unit. If the patient worsens, he/she will be transferred to the ICU for a more exhaustive follow-up.
