Paciente de 30 años que ingresa en urgencias del Hospital Miguel Servet de Zaragoza por dolor agudo en rodilla derecha, inflamación y dificultad para caminar.
Estaba disfrutando de sus vacaciones en la estación de Candanchú mientras esquiando realizó un giro brusco y notó un chasquido en la rodilla.
Al acudir a urgencias se le realiza AS, Radiografía de tórax y ECG. El facultativo examina la rodilla indica realizar una RM para descartar posibles lesiones colaterales.
La prueba de imagen revela que si hay rotura de ligamento cruzado anterior pero no se han visto afectados ni menisco ni cartílago superior.
Se le da el alta del servicio de urgencias con indicaciones de reposo, un vendaje elástico semicompresivo y analgesia oral a la espera de citación para operación programada.

A 30 year old patient was admitted to the emergency room of the Miguel Servet Hospital in Zaragoza due to acute right knee pain, swelling and difficulty walking.
He was enjoying his vacation at the Candanchú ski resort while skiing, he made a sharp turn and noticed a snapping sound in his knee.
When he went to the emergency room, he underwent an AS, chest X-ray and ECG. The physician examined the knee and ordered an MRI to rule out possible collateral injuries.
The imaging test reveals a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament but no meniscus or superior cartilage is affected.
The patient is discharged from the emergency department with indications for rest, a semi-compressive elastic bandage and oral analgesia while awaiting an appointment for scheduled surgery.
