Las excavaciones arqueológicas llevadas a cabo a partir del año 2002 en el Castillo de Lorca, permitieron documentar una gran zona de la judería, donde se documentaron la sinagoga, varias viviendas, un taller de vidrio y las carnicerías.
La investigación de la judería avanzó progresivamente desde 2009 hasta la actualidad, a partir de un equipo interdisciplinar de investigadores coordinado desde el Área de Historia Medieval de la Universidad de Murcia, que está realizando un estudio exhaustivo del sector oriental del Castillo de Lorca, convertido en el Parque Arqueológico, donde se ubica la judería.

The archaeological excavations carried out from the year 2002 in the Castle of Lorca, allowed us to document a large area of the Jewish quarter, where the synagogue, several houses, a glass workshop and the butcher shops were documented.
The investigation of the Jewish quarter has advanced progressively between 2009 and the present, from an interdisciplinary team of researchers coordinated from the Medieval History Area of the University of Murcia, which is carrying out a comprehensive study of the eastern sector of the Castle of Lorca, converted in the Archaeological Park, where the Jewish quarter is located.
