Resumen de La literatura como mitología infraurbana del mal.: Sábato: “Informe sobre ciegos”, en Sobre héroes y tumbas (1961-1993)

El artículo plantea la pregunta por el alcance del “Informe sobre ciegos”, capítulo central de Sobre héroes y tumbas,como un acercamiento fenoménico, estético y mitológico a la pregunta por el mal. La primera parte se ocupa de rastrear los motivos que llevan a Sábato a la formulación del mito de la Secta de los ciegos como una hipótesis plausible sobre la inteligibilidad del mal. La segunda, explora los recursos figurales: pictóricos y cinematográficos, que Sábato utiliza para entrar en el mundo de abajo, en el reino del mal que oculta la ciudad de Buenos Aires. La última parte intenta situar el dilema entre forma y figura como claves hermenéuticas del mal en el conjunto de la vida y la obra del autor, como un recurso para examinar el alcance metafísico y moral de su pensamiento.

The article raises the question about the scope of the “Report on the Blind”, the central chapter of On Heroes and Tombs, as a phenomenal, aesthetic and mythological approach to the question of evil. The first part deals with tracing the reasons that lead Sábato to formulate the myth of the Sect of the blind as a plausible hypothesis about the intelligibility of evil. The second explores figural resources: pictorial and cinematographic, that Sábato uses to enter the world below, in the kingdom of evil that hides the city of Buenos Aires. The last part tries to situate the dilemma between form and figure as hermeneutical keys of evil in the author’s life and work as a whole, as a resource to examine the metaphysical and moral scope of his thought.
