    El objetivo de este artículo es analizar la importancia del fomento de la lectura en niños de educación inicial en tiempos de pantallas digitales. Uno de los retos actuales en la educación infantil es garantizar la promoción de la lectura y literatura a través de diversos medios y enfrentar al desafío que representa el entorno digital en dicho contexto. Se presentan aportes de estudios relacionados al área y un análisis descriptivo de principales temas relacionados en contraste con diversos autores. Finalmente, se presentan algunas conclusiones sobre el tema desarrollado, las cuales podrán servir como punto de partida para reflexiones y profundizaciones en futuras investigaciones en torno al eje abordado. A partir de las conclusiones se destaca la importancia de utilizar estrategias variadas para fomentar la lectura y promover la literatura infantil a través de la combinación de herramientas virtuales y no virtuales, logrando el aprovechamiento de los recursos físicos y tecnológicos disponibles a fin de potenciar el aprendizaje y el desarrollo del hábito lector en los niños desde los primeros años de vida, de esta manera se favorecerá el desarrollo de un conjunto de habilidades y destrezas que servirán de base para futuros aprendizajes del infante a lo largo de su proceso formativo.

    The purpose of this article is to analyze the importance of reading promotion in early childhood education in times of digital screens. One of the current challenges in early childhood education is to ensure the promotion of reading and literature through various tools and to face the challenge that the digital environment represents in this context. It presentscontributions of studies related to the area and a descriptive analysis of main related topics in contrast with several authors. Finally, some conclusions on the developed topic are presented, which may serve as a starting point for reflections and deeperinvestigations in future research on the approached axis.The conclusions highlight the importance of using a variety of strategies to encourage reading and to promote children's literature through the combination of virtual and non-virtual tools, by taking advantage of the physical and technological resources available in order to promote learning and the development of the reading habit in children from the first years of life.This way, the development of a group of skills and abilities that will serve as a base for the infant’s future learning throughout the formative process will be favored
