    Este articulo trata sobre las relaciones entre novela histórica e historiografía. La novela El General en su Laberinto de Gabriel García Márquez le permite al historiador König señalar las diferencias entre uno y otro género, indicar la crítica que dicha novela desarrolla contra la historia tradicional que mitifica los héroes, aunque ella misma se termine exaltando la figura del caudillo Bolívar. No obstante, el artículo muestra el enorme potencial que una novela, como El General en su Laberinto tiene para la renovación de la historiografía y la construcción de una visión renovada del pasado.

    This article deals with the relations between the historical novel and historiography. The novel El General en su Laberinto by Gabriel García Márquez allows the historian König to point out the differences between one gender and another, also to indicate the criticism that such a novel develops against the traditional history mitifying the heroes. Although it ends itself by enhancing the figure of the leader Bolivar. Nevertheless, the article shows the great potential that a novel such as El General en su Laberinto has for the renewal of the historiography and the construction of a renewed vision of the past.
