    A pesar de una vida digna de estudio, las monografías de María Cristina son escasas e incompletas y las del duque de Riánsares inexistentes. La vida de María Cristina merece ser estudiada, al menos para conocer su posición o implicación real en los acontecimientos por los que todavía se le juzga u otros en los que no se la había situado. Uno de estos acontecimientos que merecen situar a María Cristina en el tiempo es el del atentado contra Juan Prim. Primero desde Francia y después desde Inglaterra, María Cristina observó la amenaza a la dinastía que había conseguido perpetuar. Ante todos los acontecimientos que se sucedieron alrededor de la elección de nuevo monarca y el atentado contra Prim ¿cuál fue la reacción que tuvo María Cristina? En el presente artículo intentamos dar respuesta a estas y otras preguntas.

    Despite a life worthy of study, Maria Cristina’s monographs are scarce and incomplete and those of the Duke of Riánsares non-existent. The life of María Cristina deserves to be studied, at least to know her position or real involvement in the events for which she is still judged or others in which she had not been placed. One of these events that deserve to place María Cristina in time is that of the attack against Juan Prim. First from France and then from England, Maria Christina observed the threat to the dynasty she had managed to perpetuate. Given all the events that took place around the election of a new monarch and the attack against Prim, what was the reaction that María Cristina had? In this article we try to answer these and other questions.
