Resumen de Persiano antico in lettere aramaiche. Pratiche redazionali nell’epigrafia tardoachemenide

Marco Fattori

  • This article aims to show that in the late Achaemenid period the draft copy of the Old Persian text of royal inscriptions was usually written in Aramaic script and then transposed into cuneiform. It is argued that such two-step process can account for many unexpected forms found in the texts which cannot be ascribed to a late linguistic stage.
