    The 60s' are a very creative decade in the Basque Country, and the Basque society makes a big progress towards education in Basque thanks to the spread of ikastolak. In that context, the need of new school material is increased, and it was found necessary to make stories and syllabaries that would allow to read in Basque. In Bizkaia, the publishing house EDILI works intensively, and the association EUSKERAZALEAK continues with that work. Both of them develop the reading method Aurtxoa. In this work, we explain the origin of Aurtxoa, making a comparison between the production and the method. On the one hand, we shed light on some formal data on production (authors, printing house, publishing house and subsidies). On the other hand, we explain in detail the process of the method, while analysing the contents.

    60ko hamarkada Euskal Herrian sormen handikoa da, eta euskal gizarteak irakaskuntza euskaraz garatzeko urrats sendoak ematen ditu ikastolen hedapenarekin. Egoera horretan ikasmaterialaren beharra areagotzen da, eta irakurketa euskaraz lantzeko ipuinak eta silabategiak beharrezkotzat ikusten dira. Bizkaian EDILI argitaletxeak lan handia egiten du, geroago EUZKERAZALEAK Elkarteak bideratuko duena. Biek ekoizten dute Aurtxoa irakurketa metodoa. Oraingo honetan, Aurtxoaren jatorria azaltzen dugu ekoizpena eta metodoaren izaera erkatuz. Batetik, ekoizpenari dagozkion datu formal batzuk argitzen ditugu (egileak, inprimategia, editoretza eta diru laguntzak). Bestetik, irakurketa metodoaren nondik norakoa zehatz azaltzen dugu edulden azterketari arretajarriz.
