    The question of materiality has been associated with the field of arthistory since its formation as a scientific discipline, but it has attracted more serious attention from researchers in recent decades. The more we study the object itself, the more we know about its characteristics and therefore about its origin and the culture in which it was produced. In this article, we study the origin of a group of oriental silks with the same weaving technique that presents stylised patterns and Arabic inscriptions. These textiles were probably produced in the same geographic region, in Iran or Iraq from the 10th to 12th centuries. A careful study of the stylistic characteristics of the 14 textiles in this group sheds light on their style, and offers a hypothesis on a more precise origin of these fragments

    La question de la matérialité a été associée au domaine de l'histoire del'art depuis sa formation en tant que discipline scientifique, mais elle a attiré une attention plus sérieuse de la part des chercheurs au cours des dernières décennies. Plus nous étudions l'objet lui-même, plus nous en savons sur ses caractéristiques et donc sur son origine et la culture dans laquelle il a été produit. Dans cet article, nous étudions l'origine d'un groupe de soies orientales, avec la même technique de tissage, qui présente des motifs stylisés et des inscriptions arabes. Ces textiles ont probablement été produits dans la même région géographique, en Iran ou en Iraq du Xème-XIIème siècle. Une étude attentive des caractéristiques stylistiques des 14 textiles de ce groupe nous permet de mettre en lumière leur style et de proposer une hypothèse sur l’origine plus précise de ces fragments
