    El pasado 10 de octubre de 2022 se conoció que el Premio del Banco de Suecia de Ciencias Económicas, en memoria de Alfred Nobel, sería este año para Ben Shalom Bernanke, Douglas Warren Diamond y Philip Hallen Dybvig, por sus investigaciones sobre los bancos y las crisis financieras. En el presente trabajo se estudiarán sus vidas profesionales, sus trabajos y los méritos que los han llevado a alcanzar el Premio Nobel, sobre todo, sus aportaciones en aras de mejorar significativamente la comprensión del papel de los bancos en la economía, especialmente durante las crisis financieras, así como la forma de regular los mercados financieros.

    On October 10, 2022, it was announced that the Bank of Sweden Prize for Economic Sciences, in memory of Alfred Nobel, would this year go to Ben Shalom Bernanke, Douglas Warren Diamond, and Philip Hallen Dybvig, for their research on banks and financial crises. This paper will study their professional lives, their jobs, and the merits that have led them to achieve the Nobel Prize, above all, their contributions to significantly improve the understanding of the role of banks in the economy, especially during financial crises, as well as how to regulate financial markets.
