  La investigación cualitativa constituye una metodología orientada al conocimiento en profundidad de las dimensiones humanas que intervienen en ámbitos complejos, como ocurre en los servicios de salud.

  Situarse en la perspectiva del otro, la importancia del contexto y la valoración holística y procesual del objeto de estudio, y ser flexible en el diseño, renunciando a imponer hipótesis cerradas de partida, son características fundamentales de la investigación cualitativa. El objetivo de esta no es la cuantificación empírica de los hechos, sino la comprensión y análisis de los discursos, comportamientos y motivaciones de las personas y grupos en sus propios contextos, considerando la interacción y lo interpretativo como componentes fundamentales, tanto en quienes queremos investigar, cómo en nosotros como investigadores.

  Qualitative research is a methodology oriented towards in-depth knowledge of the human dimensions involved in complex problems, as occurs in health services.

  Being situated in the perspective of the other, the importance of the context and the holistic and processual assessment of the object of study, and being flexible in the design, renouncing to impose closed starting hypotheses, are fundamental characteristics of qualitative research. The objective of this is not the empirical quantification of the facts, but the understanding and analysis of the speeches, behaviors and motivations of people and groups in their own contexts, considering the interaction and the interpretative as fundamental components, both in those who want to investigate, as in us as researchers.
