La “consulta” suiza de 1803 y la reactivación de la Confederación. Una aproximación a las bases de la Suiza moderna

    En aras de comprender las bases sobre las que se erigió el sistema democrático federal suizo actual debemos analizar, aunque sea de manera panorámica, los elementos que fluctuaron para su materialización. En este sentido, la primera mitad del siglo XIX será el escenario idóneo para la progresiva construcción del modelo institucional y su consolidación tras 1848. No obstante, no debemos olvidar su entrada en la órbita francesa entre 1803 y 1815, cuya mediación supondrá la reactivación de la Confederación y la participación suiza en las guerras napoleónicas.

    In order to understand the foundations on which the current Swiss federal democratic system was built, we must analyze, albeit in a panoramic way, the elements that fluctuated for its materialization. In this sense, the first half of the 19th century will be the ideal scenario for the progressive construction of the institutional model and its consolidation after 1848. However, we must not forget its entry into the French orbit between 1803 and 1815, whose mediation will mean the reactivation of the Confederation and the Swiss involvement during the Napoleonic Wars.
