    El presente artículo identifica los alcances del principio de protección al medio ambiente, la biosfera y la biodiversidad, incluído en la Declaración Universal sobre Bioética y Derechos Humanos; con la finalidad de explorar la manera en que el juzgador puede orientar su interpretación jurídica para redimensionar los alcances de la interconexión entre los seres humanos y las demás formas de vida; así como la importancia de un acceso apropiado a los recursos biológicos y genéticos y su utilización y, también, el respeto del saber tradicional y los deberes que deben asumir los seres humanos. En este contexto, adquiere una relevancia particular el diálogo interdisciplinario en el respeto al medio ambiente, la colaboración internacional y la reflexión filosófica, para asumir esfuerzos orientados a cumplir adecuadamente con los deberes y obligaciones del Estado y de los individuos frente a su medio y otras formas de vida.

    This article identifies the scope of the principle of protection of the environment, the biosphere and biodiversity, included in the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights; with the purpose of exploring the way in which the judge can guide its legal interpretation to resize the scope of the interconnection between human beings and other forms of life. The importance of appropriate access to biological and genetic resources and their use, as well as respect for traditional knowledge and the duties that human beings must also be assumed. In this context, interdisciplinary dialogue on respect for the environment, international collaboration and philosophical reflection acquire particular relevance in order to assume efforts aimed at adequately complying with the duties and obligations of the State and of individuals towards their environment and other life forms.
