Resumen de Metaphor: Meaning, Interpretation and Causation
In this paper, I examine, extend, and modify Donald Davidson’s non-cognitive theory of metaphor in the perspective of his theories of interpretation, action, and rationality. I extend the results to other rhetorical figures, explain the impact of non-literal utterances as a special case of the causal impact of events in terms of Davidson’s theory of action, and examine the analogy between presented approach and the theory of metaphor of Samuel Guttenplan
