    This article aims at showing the contribution of the indication theory of Luis J. Prieto to research on second language acquisition in a professional context. After a sketch of Prieto’s theory and concepts, in the light of recent developments in the fields of pragmatics and second language acquisition and teaching, the article underlines their relevance for the study of exolingual interactions in French in a professional context (metalworkers).

    Cet article veut mettre en évidence l’apport de la linguistique fonctionnelle de Luis J. Prieto à la recherche en pragmatique et en didactique des langues.

    Il tente de montrer l’intérêt que peuvent représenter les concepts de Prieto et sa théorie de l’indication pour l’analyse des échanges exolingues en situation d’acquisition du français langue étrangère en contexte professionnel. Il illustre, à partir d’échanges recueillis auprès d’ouvriers du secteur de la métallurgie, l’application qui peut être faite des principes de Prieto pour la conduite d’une analyse de corpus.
