El desarrollo del talento académico en Química, sitúa a la educación hoy día, ante un reto importante que es necesario considerar en toda su magnitud, y conduce a buscar vías para responder adecuadamente a esta demanda, con el fin de lograr el pleno desarrollo de la personalidad y la educación integral del estudiante, para su inserción en la sociedad y su contribución al desarrollo de la ciencia. Este artículo trata acerca de las concepciones sobre el talento, las características de los estudiantes con talento académico en Química y los instrumentos que pueden aplicarse en la determinación de las mismas.

The development of the academic talent in Chemistry, locates nowadays to the education, before an important challenge that is necessary to consider in all its magnitude, with the purpose of achieving the full development of the personality and the student's integral education, for its insert in the society and its contribution to the development of the science.
This article tries about the conceptions on the talent, the characteristics of the students with academic talent in Chemistry and the instruments that can be applied in the determination of the same ones.
