    El objetivo de este breve estudio es explicar cómo los episodios de violencia doméstica pueden influir en el desarrollo de las situaciones de sustracción internacional de menores y cómo pueden ser un motivo para una decisión de no retorno del menor a su país de residencia habitual. Sin embargo, en primer lugar, es necesario explicar muy brevemente el concepto de sustracción internacional de menores; en qué instrumentos jurídicos es posible encontrar su marco legal; y el sistema allí establecido que favorece el rápido retorno del menor al país de residencia habitual

    The purpose of this brief study is to explain how episodes of domestic violence can influence the development of international child abduction situations and how they can be a ground to a decision of non-return of the child to his/her country of habitual residence. However, first of all it is necessary to explain very briefly the concept of international child abduction; in which legal instruments it is possible to find its legal framework; and the system established there which favours the fast return of the child to the country of habitual residence.
