    Si la pandemia ha sido monstruosa y nos ha obligado a replantearnos nuestra existencia, no solo es porque lo monstruoso se defina como lo que aparece sin haberse previsto, sino porque el modo de existencia de la humanidad ha tenido que ver, desde siempre, con la amenaza de extinción y con la frontera de una vida que se proyecta en el límite. A ese límite de lo real suele apelar tanto el mito como la representación artística, pero tampoco conviene confundir la actual inflación de representaciones con semejante proyección.

    If the pandemic has been monstrous and has forced us to rethink our existence, it is not only because the monstrous is defined as what appears without having been predicted, but also because humanity's mode of existence that has always been traded to the limit. Both myth and artistic representation tend to appeal to this limit of real, but the current inflation of representations should not be confused with this.
